Yes, another Saturday, another game! This ended up being a loss, but more importantly, one of Luke’s teammates slid into 2nd and 3rd base and ended breaking his wrist. Another was hit in the face wirh a ball he had just hit (it hit funny and went up), but he was okay, albeit walking around with a swollen eye.

My Leap of Faith into the State Exchange Project

Have you ever felt nervous about joining a baseball team, doing your first 4-H  presentation, or even riding a roller coaster for the very 1st time? After 6 months of research about bicycles, I finally felt confident about buying one. But sometimes research doesn't help, sometimes the best way to learn or experience things is to take a leap of faith and just do it.

I think Luke has mentioned to some of you that he joined the State Exchange Project this year, but I haven't written up a good blog post about what it is. It is a national 4-H project where kids in one state go and stay with 4-H members in another state for a week in July, and vice versa. Luke will be traveling to Montana this summer to stay for a week with his host family, and then we will host them in the summer of 2020. We are responsible for showing the visitors the Bay Area, which means traveling, museum admission and more, so a huge part of being in the project is the fund-raising.

Both Jack and Luke got haircuts at the local barber - Luke has a preference for "high and tight" haircuts, and all Mama can do is zip his head with the clippers for a boring crew cut. Jack doesn't care much either way, but a barber cut is better than a clip; Grandma used to give them haircuts when she was here (she has the patience to take her time and be careful, very unlike me), but now that she's back in Michigan, the barber it is. Norman the Cat is only there for set dressing :-)

Chance was on Spring Break last week and came home Friday night to spend a few days with us. He is very behind on his sleep (way too busy), but he woke up early enough Saturday morning to come to Luke's baseball game with us. Jack and Dad too! I'm trying something different with the pictures, putting text right on the picture, but we'll see if the resolution stays high enough to make it readable and usable.

This was a Monday night ball game, so no Daddy (too hard to get there in time from work) only Jack and me.

The pictures and the graphic posts tell more, but in short, they won! Luke’s team had no wins last year, so this was sweet for the boys. I was also playing with a phone app while we were watching the game writing up the graphic blocks, but I am not too sure how well those work. I'll post another entry where I edited the pictures themselves with annotations.
